Noodle manufacturer Julius Lampe (Erhard Siedel) is extremely proud when the Prince von Holsten-Bohlau orders some of his products for an Africa expedition, and so he immediately tells the guests of his evening party. One of them gets angry at Lampe’s pompous behaviour and decides to play an April Fools’ Day joke on him, making up the story that the prince is coming to visit Lampe’s factory. Lampe believes this story and has it placed as a news item in the local paper. In order to save Lampe from public ridicule, a travelling salesman (Hubert von Meyerinck) is hired to play the prince. But then the real prince (Albrecht Schonhals) reads about his supposed visit to the noodle factory in the paper, and he decides to actually go there. So now there are two princes visiting Lampe who of course mistakes the real one for the fake one, which leads to a lot of comical situations...
