1980s sci-fi drama from the BBC starring Hywel Bennett as paranormal novelist Gideon Harlax, who is drawn into a battle between the forces of good, represented by alien angel Helith (Sting), and the forces of evil, represented by Helith's evil brother Asrael (Roland Curram).
A Danish museum case shattered, the pieces of a pagan statue hidden in cars on a North Sea ferry, the subsequent deaths of ferry passengers, an old musician terrified that a curse upon him will cause the devastation of the earth. Gideon Harlax, a successful young novelist of the "paranormal and unexplained", thinks he has found the material for a new book.
Harlax unwittingly becomes part of an ancient plot that may result in the destruction of Earth...
