A classic of the world theatre since it was first published in 1882, Henrik Ibsen's An Enemy of the People is here given a modern film adaptation -- the action set in a small town in present day Norway. Ibsen's spa has been turned into a mineral water bottling plant, while the play's main protagonist, Tomas Stockmann, has become a nutritionist and host of a popular show on TV. And a key partner in his brother's bottled water enterprise. That's when he discovers that the company's water source is contaminated. Tomas wants to tell the truth, but Peter is afraid that the company -- and the town itself -- could be forced into bankruptcy. An old dilemma with a thoroughly modern twist.
