Documentary about the actor, director, mountain guide and architect Luis Trenker (1892 - 1990). Trenker's cinematic successes and achievements are mainly in its pre-war films such as "Mountains in Flames", "The Prodigal Son" or "The mountains are calling." Apart from many film clips come mainly Trenker himself to speak in detail.

Also included on the DVD is another short documentary Von Kastelruth nach Hollywood
by Hans-Jurgen Panitz (47 min/1985).
