This a gift DVD includes three documentaries about the Great Patriotic War. This DVD was presented to heads of state, official delegations and accredited foreign journalists who came to Moscow to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Great Victory 9 May 2005.
The Defeat of German Forces at Moscow (released in the US as Moscow Strikes Back) is a Soviet documentary film about the Battle of Moscow in the Great Patriotic War. Production of the Central Studio of Newsreels, October 1941 – January 1942.
In November 1941, Stalin decided to start filming a documentary about the Battle of Moscow. Leonid Varlamov and Ilya Kopalin were identified as two directors. Fifteen frontline operators, including R. Karmen and A. Krylov took part in shooting.
Berlin: The film is interspersed with German newsreel shots narrating the Nazis' plan of global hegemony. The documentary describes the final major battle of the war with Nazi Germany, with its outcome, the German army's unconditional surrender.
Ordinary Fascism (released in the US as Triumph over Violence) is a 1965 Soviet documentary by Mikhail Romm. An extraordinarily powerful reminder to the future generations of the horrors of German Nazism, it features newsreel captured material from the film archives of the Propaganda Ministry of Nazi Germany and Hitler's personal photo archives to denounce dictatorship.
