Kim Jong Il: Leadership of Korea
This interesting documentary video was created by the North Koreans to show their people, as well as the outside world, how their LEADER, COMRADE KIM JONG-IL worked tirelessly from early adulthood to bring his father's (the ETERNAL PRESIDENT COMRADE KIM IL SUNG's) wishes for the people into reality. Kim Jong Il's reward was Kim Il Sung's satisfaction, the people's happiness and the right to inherit the mantle of leadership of North Korea after his father's death, thus leading to the first incidence of dynastic succession in the history of modern communism.

The documentary follows Kim Jong Il's earlier life starting with rare black and white footage of the immortal contributions he made in his university days in the early 1960's and his work in the all important Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. Extensive coverage is given to Kim Jong Il's early work in the film industry, music, dramatic arts and revolutionary operas in order to consolidate the Juche oriented revolutionary and ideological education of the people.

The documentary shows how Kim Jong Il, by promoting and exalting his fathers ideas, and giving "guidance" on everything from the composition of mass media to grand architectural projects was able to consolidate the Workers' Party of Korea's (as opposed to the military) leading role in the promotion of the revolution and its establishment, ideologically and organizationally, as the party of Kim Il Sung. This goes a long way towards explaining why North Korea physically and ideologically is the way that it is today.

Also shows rare footage of Kim Jong Il visiting Panmunjom in the Demilitarized Zone, with surprised South Korean soldiers peering at him from their side of the border!
