Pierre (Pierre Etaix) spends his days in his room studying the moon and astronomy until one day his mother (Denise Perrone) decides it's time that he got married. The only problem is that Pierre is totally uneducated in the ways of love, and so The Suitor follows him as he bumbles from one scenario to another, attempting to pick up on women in the streets, going to nightclubs.
The naive young man has a series of romantic misadventures in search of his ideal wife, unaware the right girl for him is right under his nose...
