Le vieux fusil 1975
The film is based on the Massacre of Oradour-sur-Glane in 1944.
On 10 June 1944, the village of Oradour-sur-Glane in Haute-Vienne in then Nazi-occupied France was destroyed, when 642 of its inhabitants, including women and children, were massacred by a Nazi Waffen-SS company. A new village was built nearby after the war, but French president Charles de Gaulle ordered the original maintained as a permanent memorial and museum.

Dr. Julien Dandieu lives a quiet life with his wife Clara in the heart of the French countryside. With news about the German army approaching the area the doctor asks his family to move into an old castle away from the village. A week later he is to join them. When Julien finally arrives at the castle he find the village massacred, his daughter murdered, his wife reduced to a charred statue by flamethrower. The mild-mannered Doc seeks revenge to relieve his grief and promises to personally kill every one of the Germans responsible. He retrieves his old hunting rifle and becomes a one-man death squad, as he catches up with the Germans bivouacked in his chateau.
