Nima Javidi follows in the footsteps of fellow countryman Asghar Farhadi as he becomes the latest Iranian director to explore a domestic moral dilemma with universal resonance. He carefully builds the tension in his chamber piece setting - an apartment in Tehran, where husband and wife Amri (Peyman Moaadi) and Sara (Negar Javaherian) are preparing to emigrate to Australia. They and Sara's sister are packing up their things and having typical yet light arguments and discussions. They agreed to look after a neighbour's baby for a few hours when the nanny needed to go out.
Amidst the chaos, an unexpected and unintentional tragedy sends the pair into a spiral of panic and confusion. How they handle the situation will have repercussions, stretching their bond, testing their ethics, and threatening their impending trip...
