Set in a rural area of Greece where religious obsession and illiteracy (therefore, immorality) reign, this is the story of a violent young man coping with sexual frustration and seeing the house servant, a deaf and mute girl, as a possibility of solving his problem. His parents are barely in speaking terms with each other and his sister has an affair with a mechanic in the village, the son of a family enemy. Hostility and violence kept inside soon explode and the crimes committed won’t stay covered for long.
