A film epic about the 1917 Revolution in Petrograd. The Revolution’s headquarters at the Smolny Palace, where the plan for seizing power in Russia was masterminded; the historic salvo from the Aurora battle cruiser, a signal to revolutionary soldier and sailor detachments to begin storming the last stronghold of the Provisional Government, the Winter Palace; Lenin’s historic speech at the Congress of Soviets, proclaiming the dawn of a new era in Russia – these are some of the sequences that go before the viewer.
The film was commissioned by the Presidium of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the October Revolution. Its premiere took place at the Bolshoi Theatre on November 7, 1927.
One of the most powerful films of the Soviet revolutionary cinema! To this day the massive scale of events and the filming technique used by Eisenstein make one perceive it as a documentary representation of the era. To enhance the realistic effect, thousands of extras had been involved in the filming.
The first portrayal of Lenin in a feature film!

Another nice post.
I think this was a dual DVD release on Rusico. Is this the version with the "Hyperkino format" interactive commentaries?
No, it's another edition. http://ruscico.com/catalog/cataloguedvd/catalogue_167.html
If you want Hyperkino release, I will upload it's for you.
Yes, that would be very nice indeed. Thank you.

Hey, movieworld, thanks for you great job. I had downloaded four times the first part of this movie https://upstore.net/smpBPhf/Oktyabr.1927.Ht.D1.part1.rar and always winrar says that's damaged. I'm using the latest version of winrar. Also does 7zip.
And the second part, you also have downloaded? Winrar sometimes makes mistakes possibly been damaged part 2. You can restore files using the the recovery record.
Hi, thanks for the speed! Yes, I've downloader the second part. The repair tool gives the same message "Unexpected end", and I don't see any recovery record. The DVD5 is fine.
I downloaded both files and unzip them without problems.
Check that the files have the same name (except for part numbers) and are in the same folder. To restore files in winrar press Alt+R.
First of all, many many thanks for your dedication. There must be something in my browser, other of your files had downloaded VERY incomplete (300M, foxexample). I'm trying now with a download manager. Thank you very much.
Hi, must be something in my browser, with a download manager I downloaded entire files. Thanks again for your support and, over all, for your incredible dedication.
