In the charming romantic comedy Teacher's Pet, Clark Gable is at his curmudgeonly best playing James Gannon, a tough-as-nails newspaperman who believes a degree from the school of hard knocks is far more valuable than one from any university. Doris Day plays Erica Stone, a journalism teacher at a local college who believes just the opposite. With the goal of proving that higher education is hooey, Gannon enrolls in Stone's class incognito. It isn't long before sparks fly between the unlikely pair, but first they must get past their seemingly fundamental differences.
