The Disappearance of Bas Jan Ader: Here Is Always Somewhere Else
The career of Dutch-born conceptual artist, photographer and filmmaker Bas Jan Ader ended in 1975 with an ill-fated art performance titled In Search of the Miraculous, during which Ader was lost at sea during a solo trans-Atlantic crossing. The artist's life story is recounted by Rene Daalder, in which it becomes a sweeping overview of contemporary art as well as an epic saga about the transformative powers of the sea.

A second accompanying disc features a collection of film and video works by the artist, including critically acclaimed pieces such as: "I'm too sad to tell you" and "Fall 1" and "Fall 2".

For the first time ever, the artist's complete film oeuvre is being made publicly available in this unique two-disc edition, sure to inspire a new generation of artists, thinkers and dreamers alike.
