The new film by Teimuraz and Gela Babluani portrays the clash between the West with its humanism and rationality and an ancient culture with its age-old traditions.
Three young people from France (Sylvie Testud, Stanislas Merhar, Olga Legrand) journey across Georgia because one of them has inherited a ruined castle there.
Traveling through Georgia’s mountainous country, they encounter a youth and an old man who are on their way to the village of their enemies, where the death of the family’s elder is designed to put an end to the bloody vendetta of the feuding families. The uninvited witnesses’ inability to understand the local customs and their attempt to interfere in the situation lead to a tragic finale...
