Third Secret 1964
At the beginning of The Third Secret, a prominent London psychiatrist (Peter Copley) dies of a gunshot wound to the head, an apparent suicide. His 14-year-old daughter Catherine (Pamela Franklin), however, suspects he was murdered and asks one of his patients, Alex Stedman (Stephen Boyd), to investigate. Though Alex -- a famous American journalist who explains his country's foreign policy to British television viewers -- is reluctant at first, he soon realizes that his emotional insecurities will be on the rampage until he discovers the truth. As Alex interviews a self-doubting painter and art gallery owner (Richard Attenborough), a smug judge (Jack Hawkins), and a highly nervous secretary (Diane Cilento), we begin to suspect that the truth is more complicated than it initially seemed...
