The 1920s Civil War in Russia. The Crimea Peninsula is the last stronghold of the White Guard, and the Red Army is planning the final assault.
Budenny’s revolutionary army gets hold of a French movie camera as a trophy. To receive operational reconnaissance data, the army’s general staff decides to use it for filming the enemy fortifications from air. A former photographer, soldier Andrei Nekrasov is assigned to be a cameraman. With Ivan Karyakin as his mate, he sets about carrying out the operation. They could not even imagine what amazing experiences, both dramatic and hilarious, they would have to go through...
The second story line is about a White Guard officer Brusentsov who is devoted to Russia and his cause but sees it being destroyed day by day.
