The civil wars in former Yugoslavia in the early 1990s have led to creation of many films. In Iran's film industry, Hatamikia has made a feature film on this theme, which is one of his best works. The Film "Green Ashes" is the story of a documentary maker named Hadi, who leaves for Croatia to research on his next film. One of Hadi's friends calls on him to search for a woman named Fatemeh, who was about to marry this friend. But Hadi's friend's injury and return to Iran prevented this marriage from taking place...
The production of the film "Green Ashes" took place in Slovakia, which was a difficult task. In this successful film, different scenes have been remade with a large number of extras. Non-Iranian actors and actresses have performed in this film and different languages are spoken by them in this motion picture.
In this film, the two topics of love and war are skillfully blended and the filmmaker, after going through the violence of war, reaches an elevated horizon of love and emotions.
