Melik is a twenty six year old guy who has no worries about the future and has a dream to go abroad some day. His only source of income is the occasional freelance graphic designs he does for advertising agencies. Melik has no steady relationship with a woman nor a place to stay. He stays in a friend’s house, Cemil’s, who is a student. Melik falls in love with a young woman (Silan) who passes by the house he stays, but he has no idea as to who this girl is or where she lives. Melik, follows Silan and finds where she lives. One day when Silan is not home he knocks on her door. A guy called Ismet opens the door. He is around his fifties and he talks wisely. Ismet, lives in a world of his own and there is no place for anyone in that world but Silan. The only way Melik could meet Silan is through Ismet. However, his plans don’t work out. Silan’s brother who lives in Northern Iraq sends word for her to go over there via illegal channels. Silan starts to prepare to do her brother’s bidding who is wanted by the police for political crimes, but she is under police surveillance and after a while she’s taken into custody. It is up to Melik to help Silan get released and this causes psychological problems of Ismet to surface. Melik helps Silan get released from custody with the aid of his lawyer lover Secil. Soon Silan realizes that Melik has feelings for her. But she has neither the time nor the strength for such a relationship. The relationship she has with Ismet is demanding enough. She notices Melik’s moves to get closer and she refuses him.
