Short films by Witold Leszczynski
Witold Leszczyński was born on 16 August 1933. He graduated from the Faculty of Electronics of Warsaw University of Technology and from the Cinematography and Directing Departments of the National Film, Television & Theatre School in Łódź, where he worked as a lecturer after 1997. Before starting his directorial career he was a cinematographer for Polish productions. In his artistic work he was especially careful about the form. He supported the motto of C. Th. Dreyer: I'm not interested in the image of action, I'm interested in the action of image. During his time at film school, he made a student film Portret mężczyzny z medalem/Portrait of A Man With A Medal (1959) which won several awards abroad. His greatest achievements include: Matthew's Days, Konopielka and Siekierezada. He died on 1 September 2007.
