Dean Martin plays Joe Baker, an aging bandit determined to accomplish "something big", before his fiance Dover McBride (Carol White) arrives from Pennsylvania.
As it turns out, Baker is planning a raid on a famous Mexican outlaw's remote treasury. With the treasure well guarded, Baker is forced to make a deal with the vulgar and lonely bandit Johnny Cobb (Albert Salmi), to purchase a Gatling gun in exchange for a woman. So Baker kidnaps a woman off of the stagecoach, only to find that she is the wife of the commandant of the local Cavalry detachment.
Things get further complicated when a Dover McBride shows up...
