This film is an interesting experimental (and somewhat unique) event in the Soviet cinema of the 1930s. This film shows an almost perfect, utopian state of the country of victorious socialism. In this world, seems were solved all economic, financial problems, and people can easily deal with moral and spiritual issues.
The film's protagonist - a young Komsomol member Grisha Fokin. This is the ideal of the new Soviet man, well developed both spiritually and physically. He shows excellent results in sports competitions and, in addition, creates a set of high moral character. His feelings and affections are open and clean, especially his love for a beautiful woman Maria Stepanova, which looks just the same as the embodiment of the ideal of femininity. But there is one caveat - Masha has a husband.
The anti-heroes are rich, world famous surgeon Dr. Stepanov and his bootlicking house guest Fyodor, a comically reprehensible member of the new petit bourgeoisie.
