Born under the reign of Louis XV into a middle class family, Elisabeth Louise Vigee Le Brun painted the famous portraits of Marie Antoinette.
During the Revolution, she travelled into exile, returned under the Empire, and took part in both the Restoration and July Monarchy. Welcomed into all the courts of Europe, the artist signed 650 portraits and 150 drawings, commanding the highest fees of her era.
A renowned painter and a free-thinker, Vigee Le Brun is still considered ahead of her time. This docudrama follows the artist’s adventures over the course of her nearly 90-year life.
